With BIG summer anthems the likes of "Chelsea Digger", "Henrietta" and many more unforgettable ones, we are sad to announce that the Scottish band "The Fratellis" have put an end to everything.

Officially announcing the split this week, The Fratellis have been a band for the past five years - forming in 2005. From their earliest release of the EP "Beginnings and The Fratellis" they rose to stardom in the Atlantic Isles before conquering the rest of Europe. The follow up albums "Costello Music" (2006) & "Here We Stand" (2008) generated them critical acclaim, with the win of Best Breaktrough Act in 2007 at the BRIT Awards and saw the band playing festivals the likes of; "V", "Glastonbury" and our own "Oxegen".

Frontman Jonh Lawlor AKA Jon Fratelli stated that fans should expect two new albums in 2009 (one in the early part of the year and the other in the later part) however he changed that statement and said that it just simply would not be possible. When touring Japan and Australia last summer, Barry Fratelli (Barry Wallace) said that he needs some time off after the tour was complete and as it stands at this moment, no date has been set for the third album yet. In the public's eye, The Fratellis were on hiatus since the summer of 2009.

On April 25th Jon stated on his Twitter page: "Sometimes things just work out that way. Mince, Baz and I are working on music but not with each other." The band's official separation was then confirmed.

From what we know at this time is that The Fratellis are over but the members are working on their own projects and hopefully when the rain passes we'll get to experience a reunion of the great Scots!
