The Black Eyed Peas brought their eagerly awaited The E.N.D World Tour to The O2 with promises that it would be their most ambitius stage production yet. Utilising state of the art lights, lasers and staging, they planned on turning the venue into the ultimate party experience and succeeded.
Starting the night off was support act Cheryl Cole (who it seems is still going by that name according to the labels on her stage gear). She was all business on the night, concentrating hard and barely cracking a smile on stage. Cheryl's performance was highly energetic, filled with complex dance routines: a solid start but a shaky finish. When her hit song "Parachute" arrived things seemed to go a bit awry as her backing track was turned off and she was forced to sing "live". Her vocals were very weak-sounding which could partially be explained by the poor sound The O2 seemed to suffer all night long. Her vocals degraded further during her cover of the current chart-topper "Fireflies", singing off-key and making the whole thing seem like an X-Factor audition gone bad. After beginning to appear visibly uneasy, she managed to wrap things up with more energetic dancing which the crowd took kindly to.
Despite the already ear-blistering volumes, The Black Eyed Peas took a leaf out of Spinal Tap's book and had their live band (who had their parts down to a tee) turn their amps up to 11 for "Don't Break My Heart" and even when 75% of the group left the stage the sole member Taboo thrilled the audiences with "Rocking To The Beat" while held aloft the crowd on a smoking fluorescent motorbike. When Taboo left the stage the atmospherics that started the night returned which eventually lead into Will.I.Am walking on stage in full robotic costume accompanied by 6 silver gimp-suited dancers doing a 15 minute DJ set including a nice interlude of Thin Lizzy's the "The Boys Are Back In Town" of which he proceeded to perform a suprisingly excellent hip hop version.
The night continued apace with "Pump It" (and along with the song they kept getting louder and louder). Throughout their performance the Black Eyed Peas delivered each song energetically, very well polished and with as much gusto as can be expected. However, the set was plagued by sound problems, with the group being sometimes completely inaudible, but the fans didn't object as they continued their night's plan of drinking and dancing.
The group's final song was the much anticipate massive hit "I Gotta Feeling" which even included Fergie breaking into an impromptu chorus of U2's "With Or Without You" (the group obviously knew what country they were in). Of course, the crowd erupted into a refrain of 'Ole, Ole' and the group took that as their cue to fire the ticker tape into the air, wrap up the closer and leave the crowd feeling like they got their money's worth and then some.

The Black Eyed Peas are currently one of the world's hottest groups, having sold over 26 million albums worldwide. The group was formed in the early 90s by Will.I.Am and Apl.De.Ap., later joined by Fergie and Taboo, and since their 2003 breakthrough album Elephunk they have dabbled in acting, fashion design, social activism, philanthropy, cultural diplomacy and of course producing various collaborations. And together, the four members of the Black Eyed Peas have grown the group into an unparalleled story of success.
The Black Eyed Peas took to the stage not long after Cheryl's performance and they built up a nice slow atmospheric start to the gig which then lead into off into the obvious opener "Let's Get It Started". The number was incredibly well received with the booming bass beats getting the crowd in the O2 jumping around with their fists in the air. This frantic yet professional mood continued for the duration of their set with pulsating uptempo drums blending each hit song of their albums seemlessly together and constantly keeping their fans happy.
